Lamella Clarifier for Efficient Water & Wastewater Treatment 

A Lamella Clarifier, also known as an Inclined Plate Settler or Inclined Plate Clarifier, is a high-efficiency sedimentation system designed for solid-liquid separation in water treatment and wastewater treatment applications. By incorporating multiple inclined plates inside the clarifier, the system significantly increases the effective settling area within a compact footprint, allowing suspended solids to settle much faster than in conventional settling tanks.

How Does a Lamella Clarifier Work?

The Lamella Clarifier operates on the principle of gravity sedimentation. Wastewater enters the inlet chamber and is evenly distributed across a series of inclined plates. As the water flows upward between the plates, suspended particles settle onto the plate surfaces and slide downward into the sludge hopper under gravity. The clarified water continues to flow upward and exits through the overflow weir, while the collected sludge is discharged from the bottom of the unit. This continuous process provides stable and efficient solid-liquid separation with minimal energy consumption.
